Australia’s Immigration Law-Related Update

 Australia Student Visa from UAE

The immigration focus of Australia has now turned towards luring businesses and skilled workers under the country’s Global Talent program. The GTES is Australia’s Labor Agreement pathway designed to aid businesses in filling highly-skilled, cutting-edge and innovative positions that the local labor market or a standard visa program cannot help fill. Under the Agreement, the Australian Department of Home Affairs can permit not only flexibility to Australia’s Temporary Skill Shortage visa but also a four-year stay and work period with a pathway to PR following three years.

Start-ups and established businesses can access Australia’s GTES program. As for an established business, accessing the program requires meeting the following.

  • It must be an accredited sponsor under the present TSS visa program (subclass 482).
  • It must be a publicly listed business, or must have at least $4 million as its annual turnover for the last two years.

That business must show that the positions nominated will make jobs for permanent residents and Australian citizens, and/or pass on expertise to Australian employees. The said positions must also attract $158,500 as a minimum FWHIT threshold for annual earnings.

The so-called Global Talent Independent visa is an alternative immigration-related option under Australia’s Global Talent program. The GTI offers a way of achieving Australian PR in the event of an applicant being highly adept in a particular target sector and being capable of attracting annual earnings that at least meet the Fair Work High Income Threshold level.

Pharmacists For Australia Are Now In Demand

There are three more occupations of Industrial Pharmacist, Retail Pharmacist, and Hospital Pharmacist in the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL). This means any application under that List for the following visas are deemed critical and get processed on a priority basis.

  • The so-called TSS visa that comes under subclass 482
  • The ENS visa coming under subclass 186
  • The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa that falls under subclass 494
  • The RSMS visa under subclass 187

Australia’s Immigration Update

States In Australia Open New Skilled Migration Visa Nomination Programs

Territories and states in Australia have opened the programs that are aimed to back the nation’s public health and economic response to COVID-19 and its recovery from this pandemic. Jurisdictions in Australia get quotas from this nation’s federal government annually. The territories and states nominate business and skilled migrants for Australia’s Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa that comes under subclass 491 and the so-called Skilled Nom¬inated visa under subclass 190, based on the quotas.

The program will keep responding to the COVID-19 pandemic-induced challenges. At the same time, it will focus on migrants capable of making productive investments here in Australia, making jobs, providing critical medical and health skills, and supporting economic productivity.

New South Wales still has the highest allocation count for the state’s skilled visa nomination program. The state has got 3,640 places for the Subclass 491 visa and 4,000 for the Subclass 190 visa. It has invited new applications for the former visa. As a step in the process, it will choose and invite new candidates to submit their applications to an RDA office up to a week after the closure of a window for the same. The next submission windows are October 2021, January 2022 and March 2022 - all in this financial year.
